USC Department Requests for Classroom Reservations
The information below is for USC academic and non-academic departments only.
Classroom reservation requests can be made via email at classroom.scheduling@usc.edu.
We encourage you to request classroom reservations at least one week prior to your event date. Room availability can be limited on certain days and times. Normally, classroom assignments are processed within two (2) business days if your request is made during the current semester.
If your request falls within the first three (3) weeks of the fall or spring semesters, classroom assignments will be finalized two (2) to five (5) business days prior to your requested event. During this Add/Drop period, academic classes have priority in using general-use classrooms.
Please include these items in your request:
• Department (for example, ECON)
• Event Name (for example, 203 Review)
• Day(s)
• Start Time
• End Time
• Seats Required
• Room Type (Collaboration, Seminar, Lecture, Auditorium)
• Preferred Building(s)/Room(s)
• Your Name
• Your Extension

Note: Only authorized scheduling coordinators are allowed to request rooms.
USC Recognized Student Organizations
Recognized Student Organizations need to submit requests for classroom reservations via the “Classroom Space Request” form. It may be submitted by only the RSO Officers listed on EngageSC. Questions about RSO status and privileges can be directed to Campus Activities at stuacts@usc.edu.

Classroom Adjustments
Academic Section Changes
USC Academic Sections
Submit a “Curriculog proposal (00 Section Scheduling)” form for the following section changes:
- To add a new section.
- To change the day/time/mode/modality/section title/units/etc.
- To cancel a section.
For further information please visit Section Scheduling.
‘Room Change Only’ Requests
Please email “Room Change Only” requests to classroom.scheduling@usc.edu.
This includes sections without room assignments and room changes. Please include the term, course prefix/number, section number, estimated enrollment and the preferred room, if any.
USC Departments and Recognized Student Organizations
For day/time/room changes or cancellations, please email the event name, 13-digit reservation confirmation number, date, time, and assigned room information to classroom.scheduling@usc.edu.
Final Exam Rooms
All classes meet in their regularly scheduled classrooms on the day and time listed in the final exam schedule, unless the course is listed on the “Exceptions” schedule, or an authorized academic scheduling coordinator requests a larger room for the exam.
Room Requests
To request a final exam room, use the same procedures as those outlined in Classroom Reservation Requests, but be sure to also include the following:
- The five-digit section number (e.g., MATH 226-50000).
- The total number of seats required (if requesting more seats).
- Whether or not you are releasing the classroom in which the course normally meets during the semester, or if the requested room is an additional room.
Final Exam Room Assignments
Final exams are automatically scheduled in their assigned classrooms for the day and time listed on the “Final Examinations Schedule” published in the USC Schedule of Classes.
The classroom scheduling system will automatically assign the classroom to the course that meets there first. However, if there is a scheduling conflict between sections that meet on T/Th, the room will be automatically assigned to the Tuesday course, and the course that meets on Thursdays will be assigned an alternate room. For sections that meet on any MWF combination, the course that meets on Monday is automatically assigned the classroom, and so forth.
If there is a conflict, the department’s scheduling coordinator will be contacted to confirm that an exam is planned for the course. Alternate rooms will be assigned for any in-person exams.
Exceptions and Accommodations
Exception finals (finals held outside their regularly scheduled day/time), requests for additional exam time (per OSAS accommodations), and requests for a bigger classroom are scheduled as events. Please refer to the Reserving a Classroom section for instructions on scheduling these requests.
For assistance with DEN courses, please contact Distance Education Network Exams at denexam@usc.edu.
